J.M.S Metal Roofing (AUST) Pty Ltd is a small family-owned Darwin business specialising in metal roofing, re-roofing, roof repairs, flashings, roof penetrations, skylights, downpipes and guttering solutions throughout the Greater Darwin Region. Jacob has worked in the roofing industry since the age of 16. After completing his Roof Plumbing trade qualification in New South Wales, he gained extensive experience working across both commercial and residential roofing projects before establishing J.M.S Metal Roofing in 2015. Like many in the Territory, Jacob moved to Darwin and never wants to leave. Roofing in the NT has unique challenges, and J.M.S Metal Roofing is committed to provide the highest quality workmanship that can withstand anything the Top End has to throw at it.

How do I request a free quote, and what is included?
Getting a quote is easy. Give us a call, send an SMS or send us an enquiry online or by email. For many re-roofing projects, we can prepare a quote using aerial imagery without needing an initial site visit. If we need more information, we'll arrange a time to inspect the property. Repairs can be assessed on site by appointment. Our quotes clearly detail the scope of work, materials, payment schedule and pricing, with no surprises.
How do I know if my roof needs replacing or just repairing?
It depends on the age and overall condition of your roof. Many Darwin homes were built or re-roofed after Cyclone Tracy, and those roofs are now reaching the age where replacement may need to be considered. Issues such as a loose sheet, damaged flashing, or a minor leak can often be repaired. However, if your roof has widespread rust, recurring leaks, deteriorated fixings, or is nearing the end of its service life, a full replacement may be the more cost-effective long-term solution. We're happy to inspect your roof and provide honest advice on whether a repair or replacement is the best option for your property.
Do I need to be home while the roofing work is being carried out?
In most cases, no. As long as we have safe access to the property and any required power or water connections, you don't need to be home while we work. Many customers choose to remain at home during the project, although roofing work can be noisy at times. If we need access inside the home for any reason, we'll discuss this with you beforehand.
Are your metal roofing installations compliant with NT cyclone requirements?
Yes. All of our roofing work is completed in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards and National Construction Code requirements for the Northern Territory's cyclonic conditions. We use approved fixing methods and quality materials designed for Darwin's harsh weather, giving you confidence that your roof is built to meet local requirements.
Do you offer emergency roof repairs if my roof is leaking?
Yes. We understand that roof leaks and storm damage can't always wait. We do our best to respond quickly to urgent roofing issues throughout Darwin and surrounding areas, particularly during the wet season.
